Happy New Year 2009

Reading for 2009
by Rev.Alice Miller

(00:0001) (Greenwich is used as the symbolic center of Earth-time.)
Running the chart for Washington, D.C. [with LMT adjustment]
changes the house cusps by a few degrees, but essentially produces the same chart.
As always, we start with a Grand Cross. Using 12:00:01 AM will create a chart with the horizon square the meridian and the Sun conjunct the IC for every new year. Since it is always present in these yearly charts, perhaps it merely refers to the sense that each new year is, in some way, a crossroads. In any event, it is largely meaningless–not cause for worry or fear.

Part I

Much astrological comment about the current Saturn-Uranus opposition is scattered across the web–and it is still present in the chart for the New Year. While it may have personal meaning for some of you, if you have planets or other significant points of your charts that are being touched by one or more of these oppositions, they are basically markers for all-human developments.

Jim Buss reminded me of its connection with the previous Saturn-Uranus Conjunction of 1988, which was called the Harmonic Convergence. Interestingly, it was in Sagittarius the sign of truth and higher mind. Today, at the beginning of 2009, I pause to address this process in the context of its beginning.

Saturn represents limits and boundaries, and is designed to allow us to focus on a specific area without a lot of bleed-through from the background. It also refers to maturity-linked boundaries, which are designed to protect us from experiences that are beyond our current development. These boundaries are intended to move, to expand as we mature.

Jupiter/expansion is forever behind Saturn working to expand our horizons. However, some Saturn-limits are resistant to Jupiter and remain rigid, blocking our path. Then it is that Uranus steps in to break up these restrictions. Uranus’ capacity for sudden change can cause surprising, even shocking, events that push us beyond our limiting beliefs, beyond our fears.

As Uranus and Saturn came together in a harmonic convergence, an evolutionary limit was shattered and humanity was set free from the weight of earth, to soar in the clouds, even grab for the stars. It would take time for this to fully manifest, but the seeds of change were planted and a new vibrational surge began to lift humanity into new dimensions of being.

We have always had a great deal of undeveloped potential. Science concurs when it reminds us of how little of our brains we use, and how much of our DNA lies dormant. Like cosmic calendars, the cycles of Uranus-Saturn are markers of change that activate larger areas of being.

Currently, we have reached Uranus-Saturn’s full-moon phase. Living at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, I like to think of the cycle in terms of mountain climbing. At the conjunction, we are at the base, starting up. At the opposition, we reach the peak and start down the other side. The uphill struggle is finished. Most of the downhill journey will be easier. Still, there can be times when we begin to move too fast, maybe trip over a rock, or our own feet. While the worst is over, there are still challenges ahead, but the good news is that we are on the downhill side and we can see the goal of our journey.

It should be noted that our particular mountain has a plateau at the top, for the opposition is a recurring one, with five hits–four in Pisces-Virgo and a final one in Aries-Libra. The first of these occurred on election day USA, and set the mood for those which follow. For the first time in my memory (which goes back to Harry Truman) of American elections, the whole world has vested its hopes in the leadership of the USA. This may be considered a direct result of the 1988 Harmonic Convergence. Chances are the remaining hits will bring more notable events. Some of them may be retrograde in nature (like rethinking or redoing, making adjustments, etc.) It is important to keep the faith, to continue believing in what has been started. Change of this magnitude always meets resistance. But, remember, we are on the downhill side of the cycle and the end-goal is assured. No matter what criticism you hear–and you will hear some–hold the light on Washington. Believe in peace and prosperity. We are part of the process. Our prayers and/or positive attention/energies can help to smooth the path ahead.

Part II

Another major astrological event is Pluto’s transit into Capricorn for about the next eighteen years. On an all-human scale, Pluto challenges humanity, according to his sign. Back when s/he went through Scorpio, AIDS confronted us with our beliefs about the dangers and evils of sex. More recently, during the transit of Sagittarius, our beliefs about crooked politicians were confronted with political abuses of truth. We were also required to face questions of whom to believe, relative to the media. Once we could believe that news was news, and health news was helpful. As Pluto crossed Sagittarius, more and more, we were required to consider whom to trust, whom to believe.

To a large degree, Capricorn is about proof–proving the theories presented by Sagittarius. If we have been wise in our choices about whom to trust and what to believe, the years ahead will be incredibly productive. However, we will be confronted with the results of our choices, wise or unwise–on a global scale. During the next few years, we may be confronted with many errors-in-judgement. Let us not make this an opportunity to indulge in guilt-tripping ourselves or others. Let us, instead, be grateful for the opportunities presented, to learn from history.
On a personal basis, Pluto is intended to contribute empowerment, but he is very thorough and will root-out anything or anyone that is blocking your power. So many of us were conditioned to give up our power, early in life. Initially, we gave it up to parents, then to society, to spouses, bosses and the government. The next 18 years will, ultimately, be about major portions of humanity taking back personal power. It will not be about war and fighting. It will be about an expanded use of the creative consciousness. It will be about increasing competence in the use of affirmations, visualizations, and any form of prayer (focused attention) that works for you.

For those with planets in early Capricorn, Cancer, Aries & Libra
Especially birthdays between the 22nd and 25th of December, March,June,August

Pluto transits are slow–across Capricorn it will move about 1.66o per year. Aspects will be in effect for as much as five years, particularly if you resist giving up jobs, relationships, habits, etc. that stand in the way of retrieving your creative potential.

When Pluto begins a transit, he will not let go until you do. It these transits bring you pain, it means that you need to let go! All too often, we refuse to make real change (or go to the doctor!) until the situation gets painful enough.

Part of the reason for the length of these transits is that they are a kind of metamorphosis–including a relatively lengthy cocoon stage. Pluto transits are butterfly transits. You begin at the larvae stage, on the ground. You end, struggling out of the cocoon, then finally flying above the old ways on beautiful wings, having become a whole new version of you.

Part III

Jupiter is in Capricorn and conjunct Mercury. This suggests that at least some of the answers are inherent in the questions asked. Capricorn is a very mature sign and Jupiter in Capricorn is very good at figuring things out. He brings grounded and practical answers to our questions. Also, the particular combination tends to be good at finding spiritual solutions to practical problems.

Chiron and Neptune are traveling through Aquarius together. Aquarius is somewhat galactic in nature, a bit more than man. Neptune refers to our capacity for mastery, and in more practical terms, to our visionary/intuitive abilities. Chiron upgrades whatever it touches, so this points to not merely crossing the old Capricorn limits, but blowing the outer limits–call it expanding our auras. It suggests that the higher our consciousness rises the bigger it gets. Imagine how much more we can see from the mountaintop!

Both planets are relatively slow-moving and have been in Aquarius for some years, so this simply points to an ongoing process. It is all a part of the great adventure of moving into the age of Aquarius.

We might also note that we have now crossed the midpoint between the two Venus occultations in 2004 and 2012. We are on the downhill side of that passage too.

Here is a bit of enlightenment which I received.

It relates to the hundredth monkey theory. I believe that the occultation of 2012 refers to the point when enough of the New Kids have reached maturity and become active to activate the theory. They will not be a majority yet, but their numbers will be sufficient to guarantee the changes they came to make. I would say that it is safe to say that the movement toward that activation is already more than halfway complete.

Thank you to:

The Possibility People, for you have hung in there and accomplished far more than you know. If nothing else, you showed the New Kids that it is OK to be different from the older generations.
The Indigos, many of whom are in the Saturn Return period, are coming-of-age as a social and political force and I salute you for the changes you are making in our world.
The Crystals who hold the light and the vision for us all. You are the peacemakers who will become increasingly important in the coming years.
The Rainbows who have begun to come in. Still only a few of you are present–I suspect the main group will arrive when Neptune moves into Pisces. You will build the future in the space cleared by Indigos and held by Crystals.

I say to each and every one of you
that you truly are a great blessing and
you shall continue to be blessed
Happy 2009!.

News Comments--September 08

Part I

Our airwaves are being flooded with the financial crisis of the USA, adding even more fear to the flood already generated using the events of 9/11/01. Certain thoughts stand out for me. First, notice that the event was the destruction of the World Trade Center, which housed several stock exchanges, a number of banks and investment companies. Surely the destruction of those buildings can be regarded as a symbolic picture of the financial failures of recent times.

Since I avoid most news casts, I did a bit of research before beginning this article. One discovery, which I consider is quite significant: The World Trade Center was composed of nine buildings, only two of which crashed. As a symbol, it suggests that a significant part of the U.S. financial structure will survive intact.

Part II

About thirty years ago, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia and I began doing research with a book called Sugar Blues. From there, my research spread out into areas of economy controllers, the government behind the government, etc. I probably looked at this stuff for a couple of years, hoping for some glimmer of light. All I learned was that a form of financial cancer had taken over this country.

. It was also apparent that there was little that average people could do about it--probably not even if they learned to cooperate--and what are the probabilities of that? Clearly politics and government were not going to resolve this.

I have worked with many recovering alcoholics, and I remembered one of their sayings. If you keep doing things the same way, how can you expect to get different results? Applying that here, we may conclude that if anything is ever to change, extraordinary solutions will be necessary. What has become so obvious could be called moral rot. Its only answer must be metaphysical healing. In Science of Mind classes we learned, "There is a power greater than me and I can use it."

Bit by bit the knowledge of that power is spreading around the world. It is being further expanded by the new kids, many of whom come into the world knowing this. For them, it goes beyond mere belief, being so much a part of them as to be taken for granted. In them lies the hope of the world. While there are a number of Indigos older than age thirty, the main body of them beginning about 1977 is moving into its thirties.

Some of you are familiar with the “hundredth monkey” theory. I believe that by 2012, it will be in effect, relative to the new kids and their use of their divine inheritance–what which is being called creative consciousness. At that point, the percentage of these highly evolved beings will be sufficient to guarantee a world committed to change.

Part III

Near the beginning of the Age of Pisces a single man, Jesus ben Joseph, ventured to teach the world how consciousness works, or at least how to begin making it work. I think he knew that it would take an age for his message to get through. Another way to say this is to view him as the first Aquarian Model--a prototype for the changes that would occur in humanity by the end of that age.

I suspect that current generations of young people being born during the past several decades may be what was meant by the phrase second coming of Christ. Charts I have read, for some years now, have been revealing the presence on earth of Christed beings. These individuals are born outside the general consciousness, called or committed to a higher purpose. This group includes most, probably all, of the readers of Spirit and Stars.

Lest you let that burden you, know this: You are changing the world, by your very presence. You model lives which include survival and sanity against all odds. For the most part, you were born into highly dysfunctional families and subjected to one or more types of abuse. And yet, in examining yourselves, you find that you carry significantly fewer soul wounds, and far less emotional scarring that others who faced the same abuses. Let this tell you that you have a sturdier or more evolved psyche. Let it tell you that you are protected, by being more evolved and/or by guardian angels. You contract with Deity or the Universe is your protection.

Many of you do not notice that you do, as a matter of course, things that many others would think impossible. This is why I call you Possibility People, for, by your lives, you example human potentials previously unknown. You are, one and all, the elder sisters and brothers of humanity. And whether you know it or not, others look up to you–not for any moral code, but for your ability to transcend what everybody knows, and demonstrate higher truths.

Part IV: Advice

Worry
Do not try to stop worrying in traditional ways. Do not scold or criticize yourself.
Acknowledge that worry is an abuse symptom. Be gentle. Learn to laugh at yourself. Say something like, “There I go again,” and say it with a rueful chuckle.
Instead, whenever you notice that you are in worry-mode, distract yourself. Do something that will engage your mind elsewhere. Some people read romances or watch sit coms or soap operas on TV. Some use exercise. It does not matter what you use, so long as it makes your inner critic shut up.

No fair criticizing yourself for the time it takes to do this exercise! Know this: those who push your buttons or manipulate you to fears, are doing it for one purpose only. That purpose is to steal your energy. We need to remain calm and peaceful to hold our energy, for it will be that energy, directed into images of a more peaceful and productive world, that will heal its wounds. Consequently, we advise that, in so far as possible, you ignore the so-called news.

Consider the idea of Maya–which says that much of what we see is illusion. Work toward realizing that all the chaos is a deliberately created illusion. By whatever name, our God/dess is in control—and It is not fighting on either side or any war! Remind yourself as often as necessary that most of what is being called news could more properly be called advertising or brainwashing. It is clearly directed to advertising fear.

And then, in addition to the news, look at the commercials. As an exercise, notice how much advertising has moved from the sexual domain to the fear domain. Mark the emphasis on various forms of body malfunction, which are clearly designed to trigger fear. One would think that all the doctors and drug companies fear going broke! On one level or another, they know that if they can get you to look for illness, many of you will create it.

For those who have the capacity to envision, spend time daily picturing a happy peaceful planet. A simpler method is simply to imagine your own life filled with peace and plenty. And then imagine the effect, as more and more people join you in creating the image. This is the power of group consciousness in action.

Let us stop believing in the lies. Let us be the living truth, for, born outside the general consciousness, now, more than ever before, we are learning to live there. These events cannot touch us unless, we allow ourselves to fear them.

Some of you will experience life adjustments. But you have experienced such adjustments before, and you came through them. You will do so again. Whether you used the words or not, you have lived by faith. Make it more conscious. Take it for granted that you will come through, that life will get better, that the Earth will be saved. The very presence of Possibility People, Indigos and Crystals guarantee it!

So it is
So it ever shall be.

Creation, Evolution, and The New Kids Indigos, Crystals, Rainbows

In 1977 the discovery of Chiron was announced and it became the significator of the information age. Near that time, personal computers became popular, and shortly after the general population went on-line. Suddenly the masses had easy access to a huge information system that existed outside the ordinary confines of the human mind. The on-line computer became a visible symbol for human intuition and its capacity for expanding awareness.

Possibly the most significant thing about home computers is that they are evolving so rapidly. Every few years we are required to upgrade them. Ultimately, Chiron became the symbolic upgrade planet, and Chiron’s discovery marked an upgrade in humanity. The new kids represented a new evolutionary stage in humanity–a humanity that is consciously connected, from birth, to its own, Internal Internet. Whole generations of these children are born aware of previously-rare abilities, previously unknown realms of information, and previously forgotten creative potential that, in earlier generations, were accessible to only a few individuals.

The most important difference between the New Kids and earlier generations is a metaphysical one. Tradition has taught that we are hybrid beings–generally a combination that might be called lesser gods and higher animals. Most western religions taught that we had somehow fallen (into sin) and would now have to be saved before we could return to Heaven/spirit. Some denominations taught that salvation was a gift to be accepted. Others taught that it was a prize to be won or a reward to be earned.

Some religions gave us one lifetime, others gave us many incarnations in which to retrieve a state of being perfect, whole and complete. We forgot that we had been that way from the beginning, and that being less than perfect, whole and complete is an illusion, and the product of a self-image limited by the dimensions of the physical senses. Our yearning for Spirit comes from a deeply buried memory, and our evolutionary journey is about rediscovering who we really are.The great error-in-judgement (original sin?) was in mistaking a fall in vibration for a fall into evil–or at least corrupting misbehavior. All that really happened was that, upon entering physical form, awareness is focused through the physical senses. The consciousness-level drops sufficiently to avoid burning out the body.

Any time a spirit wishes to manifest within the environs of Earth and Humanity, this must occur. Although there are some indications that this may eventually change, at present the physical body does not have the capacity to contain a consciousness sufficiently large or a vibratory level of sufficiently high frequency to fully embrace or experience the full range of possibilities available to pure spirit.

On the other hand, pure spirit has insufficient boundaries for true self-awareness. It is a state of being so connected as to have little ability for a tight or concentrated focus. As a “we” construct, it has difficulty knowing where “I” ends and “you” begins.

When we step outside ourselves, to view ourselves objectively, we mirror the divine purpose behind the creation of humanity. When we give birth, we model the process, and the two perspectives are imaged by the double-helix of human DNA, which presents a picture of us as half-animate and Half-Divine. We have two sets of genetics. We inherit abilities from two physical parents and one Divine Parent, duality and unity. . . or trinity? Spirit is channeled or focused through or formatted by Soul, which needs a body in which to navigate the Earth experience. The Earth experience is the means by which Divine Spirit acquires identity, potential and intelligence. In that sense, it is a journey or a school, composed of segments such as cycles of incarnation, individual incarnations for individuals and of years, centuries, ages, for the masses.

To restate: Humanity was created as an image or mirror in which All that Is can see itself (a holograph). It also implies a spiritual heredity, divine DNA. The idea of separation began, as portions of spirit changed form, took on specific limits (as described by a Sun sign?)and entered Earth as human beings–apparently half animate, half Devine.

In this form, there is (or has been learned) a bias toward belief in the visible and tangible reality. Gradually, the great invisible, intangible realm was moved into the outer edges of consciousness. When humans began to seek spirit, they did it from a sense of having lost the connection. Many believed that the only way to be more spiritual was to be less physical. Many churches taught that the only way to see God, to know God, was through physical death. But they also taught that if spirituality was not sought with enough diligence, death would send them to Hell, or return them to an often-hellish Earth incarnation. Believing these things, made them appear to be so, but it was an illusion. They were never true.

The process by which the illusion of duality became solid belief began in Genesis. At birth the human species had been given dominion over Earth. By the power of our word/idea, we create the appearances of our lives. Even so, beneath the appearance is the original divine law of goodness. No matter how we make it look, all things are inherently good. To change our lives, we must change the way we name things.

Over the ages, the millenniums, the centuries, human spirits returned to Earth, time after time, constantly maturing (evolving), as they reached toward, yearned for, the Divine Parent--longing to be like-It. The process was long. It began with moving away, with developing a sense of identity and individuality. Before there can be an “I AM”, or a “LET THERE BE ___”, there must be an “I.”. The original purpose of humanity was to create that “I”.

The second purpose of humanity was the expansion of self-awareness to a point where the “I” and the “We” could be held simultaneously. With the capacity to name ourselves “I”, we began the process of discovering who and what “I am.” That discovery began with information from the physical senses–I am male/female, I am a black/brown/yellow/red/white person, a part of family X, which is a part of a certain culture, belief-system, society, etc. Once all these were established (sometimes over multiple incarnations), certain individuals began to reach beyond it, to wonder whether “I may be more.”

Our evolutionary journey is along a path of consciousness. Coming from a state of allness, over millenniums we moved into individuality. As we did so, we also identified as physical beings, separate and apart from Spirit. As the Age of Pisces neared, the great yearning for return called forth a major group of great thinkers, the culmination of which was vested in the birth of the Piscean Avatar, one Jesus ben Joseph. He upset the entrenched monarchies and priesthoods. He was the Indigo of his times, as he reminded us that we are the offspring of Divine Spirit, not mere creations.

No matter how deeply this message was buried under the weight of religions, it persisted. Even in the face of guilt-tripping by Churchianity, that sense of being more remained, and over the centuries it became stronger. As humanity looked for, longed for, a second coming of Christ, the Christ-Spirit became stronger–strong enough to begin manifesting in the Children of Earth. As He knew himself to be Son of God, so the occasional new-born knew itself to be a literal offspring of Deity. By the late 1970's the new impulse was so strong that whole generations of spiritually-aware children began to be born. Humanity had reached a turning point in its evolution.

Astrologers recognize the discovery of new planets to be symbols for new (remembered) facets of human consciousness. The rise became visible in the late 1700s through the early 1900s, with the discoveries of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. During the next 40-50 years, this knowledge grew and compounded. Increasing numbers of Possibility People were born as bridges between the old humans and the new ones. The upward rise culminated in 1977, as the discovery of Chiron heralded a general upgrade in humanity.

In Spiritual terms, humanity had reached a turning-point. Whole generations began to be born with a new perspective but it would be several years before these children were recognized as an evolutionary upgrade.

In the years between the discovery of Pluto in 1930 and the discovery of Chiron in 1977, increasing numbers of humans had discovered/remembered their true origin as Spirit. The new kids identify Spiritual Beings, merely taking the form of human beings. But because the power of old beliefs is strong, many of these struggle to get into, or stay in body and retain their integrity of being. Gradually, as the balance between the old kids and the new kids tips, this problem will disappear.

We suspect that Indigos were born primarily as Uranus moved into conjunction with Neptune. As Uranus moved ahead of Neptune, and especially as the planets moved into mutual reception, the Crystals arrived. It is this writer’s belief that most of the Rainbows will be born during Neptune’s transit of Pisces. After that, the old kids will fade away and the general consciousness will be that of the new kids. At that point, humanity will be ready for the arrival of the Age of Aquarius. The first wave were Indigos. They came in as Uranian rebels, to be systems-busters. Many have strong Aries placements to show their warrior status. It is their task to break up the rigidity of Saturnian Beliefs. The second wave, called Crystal, are Neptunian by nature–often with a (Chiron ruled)Virgo emphasis to show their crystalline clarity. They work by withdrawing attention away from obsolescence, which allows it to melt or dissipate. They simply ignore whatever or whoever is stuck in the old ways. We believe that the Rainbows will have conscious control of both techniques. Their main role will be to create that which will fill the space vacated by the work of the Indigos and Crystals. They are the symbolic third part of the trinity which is paving the way into the Age of Aquarius.

More recently came the discovery of Eris. Many are describing her as a trouble-maker, but the writer suspects that this is only the Eris-in-Aries factor. Ultimately, we believe that Eris is to be the new ruler of Libra, for she is the twin-sister of Mars/Aries. She is extremely slow moving, especially on this end of the Zodiac so the evolutionary effects which she symbolizes will unfold slowly over several more decades.

What I expect to see is a true male-female balance, where what we think of as Aries qualities can be shared equally between the genders. This will result in female who are independent individuals without trying to behave like males. At the same time, as the genders move into greater equality, males will be less dependent on females in terms of emotional expression, homemaking and childcare.

I also expect to see ever greater mastery of the art of working between the right and left brain areas. This should produce more logical artistry and/or more artistic logic. When the general population can use both sides in a balanced way, what might now be called genius, will prevail and become part of the definition of the word humanity.

Most of all, I expect the general population to move away from beliefs that divide Body from Soul from Spirit. As we stop dividing male from female to the point where we see only people–not of a specific gender, color, creed, economic status, etc–we can know that we are returning to wholeness.

Finally, we will also discover the ability to switch from one point of view to the other. We will be able to switch our focus from our physical form, to our Soul/astral body, to Spiritual identity–back and forth and around again, by our intention. We will truly “get it” that the physical is only one of three forms available for our use. At that point, all sense of restriction or condemnation will be released from our Earth bodies.

As we said, it will take time. By my calculations, the beginning of the Age of Aquarius is still approximately 72 years away. Seventy-two years is the time it takes for the precession of the Equinoxes, which times the ages, to move one degree. This suggests that this year moved us into the last degree of the Piscean age. This writer suggests that the passage through this last degree is what the Bible refers to as End Times. It is a bit like an adolescent period, when neither parents nor their offspring know whether these are children or adults. Even so, we are unsure, from moment to moment, whether we are in the Age of Pisces or the Age of Aquarius. Meanwhile, Neptune in Aquarius bids us to relax and allow ourselves to flow naturally into the next age. The ground-work is laid and the outcome is certain. That certainty will become clear and evident in 2012, but we may claim it now if we wish.

In some ways, the recent presidential campaign and nomination mirror the transition form Pisces to Aquarius. The new president-elect does have Aquarius Rising and certainly he represents hope to many people–not merely in the USA, but around the world. He has a big job ahead of him. We are light-workers. Let us all hold the light for him and the congress he will work with!
In closing, I would say this. The date, 2012, represents the second of a pair of Venus occultations. The first was in 2004, so we are currently mid-way. The time is right for a turning point–especially a turning point defined by Solar Light and Venus Love. Let it be so.

Disabilities or Evolution

Part I

Metaphysics, spiritual teachings, and a deep understanding of how human consciousness works, teach us that for every physical or outer sense, we also have an inner sense. These have gone by various names, such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience. We also speak of the visionary, the seer, the prophet, all of whom have been recognized in the distant past. However, for many generations, these abilities have been driven underground by laughter, religious condemnation, and/or scientific denial. Nevertheless, they kept appearing in a few individuals of each generation.

During the 1930s the all-human level reached an evolutionary level which was structurally adequate for a rapid growth in consciousness. Very few of the first such generation managed to reach adulthood with the awareness of their so-called paranormal abilities. The word paranormal implies something parallel to the normal (awake?)state of consciousness. Ultimately this points to the two sides of the brain, left-brain logic and right-brain intuition. Most left-brain dominant people are right-handed. The left-handed minority has long been recognized as more the intuitive group.
A great deal of ordinary waking life is designed by and for left-brain thinking, and with the vast majority of humans right-handed, democracy gave them dominance. This was so rigid that for many generations, parents of naturally left-handed children forced them to the right, so that they would fit in.

Only recently has it become common knowledge that doing this created the learning disabilities which hid the true genius inherent in so many left-handed children.

Even standard horoscopes are designed to picture left-brain dominance. Observing this, I apply a special technique to reading charts for right-brain dominant people.

Those who manage to preserve their gifts tell us that we all have psychic ability. Even science admits that in addition to a left brain, we also have a right brain–but they try to confine it to the arts–and then, a great many of these artists are driven into other professions because everybody knows about starving artists. And if the artist believes it, s/he will surely be unable to make a living at art. But there is a secret to that.

The longer humans live on Earth, the higher they evolve. As they evolve, they resurrect a great many of these long forgotten, but inherent, talents and skills. More than that, they evolve into their divinely ordained creativity, and as they do, their beliefs manifest ever more clearly. And the great problem with that, is that we are conditioned to believe so many lies.

One of the great tasks, given to Possibility People is the discovery and overcoming of conditioned lies. Every interception represents some such task. During our early years, we do everything right, over and over, and time after time we get the wrong results. In some area of life, our instructions about how life works are missing or wrong. As a consequence, many of us struggle mightily trying to make our lives work. A few give up and with broken hearts find their way out of body and off the Earth. Most come to a time in their lives when they throw up their hands, and in one fashion or another pray this prayer, “I give up. I cannot do this.” And then it will be that a door opens, a coincidence happens, and we finally understand that it is not our fault that we have failed. The fault is in the instructions we were given. Some or all of those instructions are obsolete or simply wrong.

Of all the common misinformation passed from generation to generation is a definition called a normal human. This has been enhanced by a medical profession that has defined a set of norms by which they measure the progress of children–and sometimes adults. And because any such norm has been created from a composite, it rarely fits any individual exactly. Consequently, we have a number of terms which, applied to individuals, suggest that they are somehow inferior to the norm.

Worse, these norms are relatively static. They discount the possibility of an evolving humanity. Specifically, they are designed to corral us all into the left-brain logical enclosure. Here there is no room for intuitive-creative people, so these are called dysfunctional and labeled in various ways–Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Autistic, etc. It is our contention that most, perhaps all, of these individuals are simply part of the unstoppable advance of human evolution.

Part II: An Example

I first heard of learning disabilities in 1967, when two of my sons were diagnosed with visual dyslexia. The more assertive boy was getting through school reasonably well, by my gentle eldest son was barely passing and had begun to believe those who told him his was retarded. The most obvious source of trouble was mathematics. While I cannot remember him ever making a mistake on his math problems, he was so slow in doing them that he never got many of them solved. He was failing math, not because he could not do the problems, but because he could not finish a paper. Something was making it take far too much time and effort to read the numbers on the paper.

When he was in sixth grade, we got him into visual training, and things begin to turn around. Even today–the memory brings tears to my eyes. He came home from school one day and told me, “Mama, I really can read.” And in the ninth grade he fought to be moved from the special education math class into algebra. He was transferred at midyear and managed an average “B” grade from then on.
In time, this young man became an accountant and worked for the Colorado Treasurer’s Office. He told me that, along with his other duties, he was their troubleshooter. Whenever anyone could not find an error, he could walk over, scan the page lightly, and put his finger on the error. Apparently, he can do math intuitively! Imagine that! If it had been known that this was possible, and if he could have been taught accordingly, how much psychic pain could he have been spared? The great blessing of his life was when visual training helped him build a bridge across the conditioned chasm between right and left brain.

So, did he have a disability, or did he have a new and unrecognized ability? Was an educational system that was heavily biased toward logical left-brain thinking the real problem?

Part III: Another Example

In the process of working with my sons to retrain their visual skills, I made another discovery. One of the exercises done in the doctor’s office involved 3-D pictures. These were passed around for the adults to see and people were exclaiming at how well the depths of objects in the paper was shown. When I looked at the pictures, I could not see what was so impressive about them.

One of the great gifts given me is a strong Uranus, which allows me to change or adapt far more easily than most.

At age thirty, I discovered that, unlike most people, I had no depth perception. I had never seen any other way, so never thought about it, never realized that other people could see things that I could not.

My visual problem was initially caught in a school eye exam at age six and diagnosed as amblyopia or lazy eye. Only much later was it understood that this was a coping mechanism for dyslexia. I so passionately wanted to read that I shut off that eye so that I could see clearly with the other one. As a consequence, I have very little physical depth perception. However, I adapted to that so well that, until that day, I did not even realize that something was missing. In conversation, this doctor said that he would love to work with me, to see whether my eyes could also be straightened out. However, he added that it would be such a strain on my nervous system that it was probably inadvisable.

And so the years passed, and for the most part vision was not an issue. I did, occasionally wish that I could draw, but I felt more than compensated to be able to write. I gave it no more thought, until recently.

My clients teach me a great deal. Recently, I mentioned to one that I have almost no capacity to visualize, that I have no depth perception, and do about 80% of my seeing with my left eye. I assume that it is all related.

Bless her heart, she offered my advice on how to regain my depth perception. Only then did I realize that this is a purely physical disability. For a long time, I have been seeing deep into clients, through the lenses of their natal charts.

I also have an intercepted Mercury which is square my Pluto-Jupiter opposition. “Don’t tell!”....and sometimes “I don’t want to hear it.” (Smile) So then, was the physical depth perception blocked to hide the very real ability to see deeply into people? My mother was Scorpio, with a Leo Moon. She was reputation-conscious and had many secrets. It is seems clear she was terrified to think what her little blabbermouth Aries daughter might tell. Mother could be a pretty scary person. Perhaps it was safest to stop seeing what it would have been dangerous to tell. Having shorted out certain perceptions, tended to skew the capacity for envisioning anything. I even lost the ability to remember dreams until the past few years.

Still, about twenty-five years ago, I began, spontaneously, to channel information that had not previously been in my conscious mind. For a long time I almost stopped reading, because I can write to learn. So far, this has gifted me with fourteen books.

Do I have a disability, or a handicap? Whichever it is, I am deeply grateful.

A dear friend once told me that I take myself for granted–I think he meant that I just do things other people cannot, without noticing that I am doing anything unusual. In any event, I never thought of connecting my ability to tap into information not in my conscious mind, with my so-called eye problem, until I was offered a method for healing it, only to realize that there is nothing that I want to heal. I have learned far too much from it, to change a thing. As I so often say, “Everything is good for something!”

For some time, I have observed a variety of ways in which we Possibility People mask, or explain the various gifts given us–gifts which were not socially acceptable in the time-space environments of our early years. For example, I appear to figure out a great deal, that probably comes to me intuitively–witness this story. Then, in our early forties or even later–when the world is ready–these gifts reappear, and with them comes our missing in life. Don’t we appreciate them all the more? I do.

Part III

I have not actually worked consistently on a new book for some time. However, at least two book ideas are gestating. The first is Chiron, and the second gestating book will be an astrology for the New Kids. Meanwhile, I have written some pages on Chiron into Principles of Astrology and Possibilities for a New Age: Intercepted Planets. Added to that, I have been using Chiron in Readings for several years–feeling my way in interpreting it. One thing comes through clearly: Transiting Chiron upgrades the planets it touches.

Alongside that, we see that Chiron’s discovery date in 1977 is very close to the first reports on the New Kids. By the early eighties, we began to hear about the Indigos, and during the nineties, we began to see the Crystals. So, as a professional astrologer I was confronted with these children, who clearly represent an evolutionary advancement.

Please excuse the Biblical references. Although much of what passes for Christianity twists its meaning, I have found the Bible to be a useful metaphysical text. . . . Of course, I suspect that one of my past lives was as a Hebrew Zadek–a member of a group who gathered to examine the texts for multiple meanings.

I have come to realize that they represent a turning point in the rise to higher levels of self awareness. The appearance of Chiron heralded an upgrade in humanity. The New Kids represent a turning point in human evolution. To explain:
I believe that we are literal offspring–not creations–of our Deity. This means that we inherit Its attributes, and that we could all do miracles if we believed in our ability and our right to do them. Notice that, even now, the lame walk, the blind see, the deaf hear, and even the dead are brought back to life. For now, we use tools. As we realize more of our own abilities and power, we will not need those tools, but will be able to speak our word and make it so. And, yes, I know that most of us are not ready to do that.

The thing that holds us back is that we have been taught by both religious leaders and the scientific community, that things like reading people, or seeing the future, or the healing arts called energy work are impossible, or works of the devil, or . . . We have been taught, from childhood on, to withhold awareness of our deeper potential.

Meanwhile, Churchianity has taught us that we can only truly be spiritual when we get out of body. They teach us that the only door to Heaven is through death. As a consequence, a large part of Earth’s population has spent lifetimes, literally trying to get out of their body. We have been taught to condemn, or at least criticize physical bodies and physical lives. Many have even taught a punishing, abusive, Father God. I have long wondered how they can justify saying in one breath that, “God is Love,” and threatening hellfire with the next breath. It simply does not make sense!

But the good news is that, even so, a portion of humanity has still reached for a higher, more spiritual state. Others intentionally reached for higher levels of consciousness. It all led to a higher evolutionary state–in individuals first, then in groups. As a result, the balance began to shift.

A day came when a turning point was reached. A new type of human began to be born, all across the Earth. They came in knowing that they are spirits, learning–sometimes struggling–to live in physical form.

Still, the great error remains, in the form of a general belief in a split between spirit and body. And whether you are trying to spiritualize a body, or physicalize a spirit, you are still missing a point. And because of that error-in-judgment, you struggle.

It is time to understand what oneness really means, for spirit and form are one. A physical body is simply a form that spirit takes. It is not different from liquid water manifesting as a solid ice form or a vaporous steam. It can be said that spirit creates body and/or incarnates as a body, for the purpose of living and growing in ways unavailable to discarnate spirit.

Part IV

So now we consider, what happens when a spirit, thinking itself separate, tries to fit into a body? For some it is a struggle, and a few give up the struggle and leave Earth while still young. Let us not question, judge or grieve too much, for they have that right. Most will make another try later, often in the same family.

Spirits have high vibrational levels. Translate that as high-speed consciousness structures. These upgraded humans are like upgraded computers–they run very fast. Is this the origin of the conditions that are labeled ADD and ADHD?

Many of these have less difficulty as they mature, as they become more accustomed to using a physical body to house an exceptionally fast information processing system. These beings are designed to do two or more things at once, to accomplish more in less time than the old style humans. Others recognize (whether consciously or not) that they are on Earth simply to start a lot of things that others can finish. If you are one of these, ignore your critics and know that you are designed to be exactly what you are. Most important of all, let no person tell you that your high vibrational level is a flaw, dysfunction or aberration. If you could see into the next century, you would find that your type is in the majority, that humanity as a whole has speeded up. And you would probably also understand what that is intended to accomplish.

New Kids are far more sensitive than older generations were. They come with poor shields against the massive amount of static that fills the air. This static is composed of a combination of human thoughts, human emotions, and huge amounts of electronic noise. Some Indigos had their nervous systems rubbed raw until it set off some rather massive displays of rage. Meanwhile, the majority learned to shield themselves enough to accomplish their goals. Part of this group demonstrated a very dramatic version of teenitis, only to turn their lives completely around a few years later, leaving their elders proud but stunned.

And then came the Crystals, who are better able to shield themselves. They have the inherent capacity to ignore all the static. In some cases, they ignore it so well as to be suspected of having a hearing loss. In others, they are labeled autistic. Granted, such severe forms of self-protection bring certain problems. Some of these find a way to channel sufficient logical skills to function well in this world. Some do not. But my message to the wold is this:

There is nothing wrong with these children.
They are the futur
e.

If we are wise, we will work with them to build bridges between yesterday and tomorrow. They have so much to teach us, and if we are wise, we will find ways to help them bridge the gap between the old ways and the new ones. Then, together, we can heal the split between right and left brains, and learn to use much more of our brains, our intelligence, our consciousness than has been possible in the past.

The Viet Nam Generation:

July 8, 2008

NOTE: Currently, many reading requests are coming in from this group, who are in their early to mid forties. As a consequence, Spirit has given me some new information and prompted me to write about it. If you were born before or after the 1960's, feel free to ignore this issue.

The Viet Nam Generation:
Uranus Crosses Pluto in Virgo, with Chiron in Pisces
Approximately 8/62-4/68

Transiting Uranus crossing Transiting Pluto (in the sky) can be considered a relatively rare event, occurring about every 112 years. It last occurred in the mid to late 1960s and for most included an opposition to Chiron in Pisces. People born during its passage are now in their forties, and dealing with a major transformation. The Chiron placement was unknown at the time, but is now active, primarily as a trigger for the upgrading of Virgo.

A standard reading of Uranus conjunct Pluto is overkill. The historic event which roughly corresponded to the last time this transit occurred was the Viet Nam War. Only when I read Flight of the Intruder, by Stephen Coonts did I really get the connection. He described a war in which modern technology was confronted by a much simpler lifestyle. He described the repeated bombing of certain targets which hardly merited being bombed once–largely because the vision of the war, held by the two combatants, was entirely different. If neither side truly won, it was because they were not fighting the same war. And because of that, many of the (American) troops suffered great emotional and/or spiritual damage. So then, in metaphysical terms, what was the message? What was the point?

From another point of view, there are certain events which seem to land us in a strange world, one for which we do not know the rules, one which we are ill-equipped to handle. When such an event happens, we are torn loose from our grounding and find ourselves afloat in a different reality–at least for a moment. For the men who were sent to the Viet Nam War, the experience was extended over months and years and some became so detached from their accustomed reality that full recovery became questionable. Again, in metaphysical terms, what was the message? What was the point?

In a sense, most, probably all, natives of this period face such a crisis or turning point, at or near the Uranus Opposition (Demi-Return). Every person born has a Uranus Opposition, usually during the period between age forty and forty two–occasionally somewhat earlier or later. It is the most obvious opportunity for changing the direction of life in most incarnations. When Uranus stands alone, it usually takes about one year to process the changes. Those who have other planets near Uranus in their natal chart will find that this period is somewhat extended and/or intensified. For those born in the mid to late nineteen-sixties, it is usually both intensified and extended.

Perhaps part of the problem is that Virgo is an earth sign, and less malleable than the other elements. Even more problematical is the fact that Virgo has long been poorly understood, due to the common religious notion that no person is perfect, or can become perfect while on Earth, but that everyone should try. The conditioning puts Virgo in a no-win situation. Whether you have any other planets in Virgo or not, Uranus in Virgo will affect your capacity to make changes, while Pluto in Virgo affects your capacity to take back your power from those who taught to live this kind of frustration.

The greater metaphysical truth is, and has always been, that we are born perfect, whole, and complete. Ultimately, Virgo stands between spiritual childhood and adulthood, at the point where full stature has been reached and a basic education acquired. Having achieved this, Virgo must now go out into the world/society and put what s/he has learned into practice. The only thing and Virgo person or planet needs is practice. Entering adulthood, we all (at least everyone before the New Kids) make some mistakes. Still, practice leads to mastery, and mistakes should be regarded as a normal part of learning how to use our adult years.

With Uranus in Virgo, what needs to change is your methods of handling life. You are asked to give up the struggle for perfection–you cannot now attain what is already behind you. Relax, give yourself a break, and continue practicing. This is not different from learning to drive a car. At first it takes all of your attention. Often we grind the gears, or kill the engine. Some of us run into something (I did). But, gradually, over time and with practice, we learn to drive with ease. In time, many of us drive almost automatically, and are able to trust that our attention will return as needed for dealing with other drivers, etc. This is the point where we have mastered driving.

For Virgo Uranus, the period can be extended because you try too hard, or are too worried about making your changes perfect. Instead, this placement asks you to practice making changes in how you handle life–commonly over a longer period than some other signs, so that you achieve enough mastery to be able to make changes of method without undue stress. You may wish to find a guru–a spiritual astrologer or life coach, for example. Most of you will simply work through the process–an ability for which Virgo is famous.

When Pluto conjuncts any other planet, it intensifies the transits to it. Pluto’s motif is metamorphosis, and this is one of the most profound changes anyone can make. So with this conjunction, the Uranus Opposition period is greatly intensified–often in a rather compulsive way. More than that, this intensity comes from your higher self, which often quite high-handedly takes over our lives from time to time–without bothering to ask our ordinary thinking mind. As one who has the Pluto energy prominent in my chart/life, I learned long ago that my lower mind is not in control and making firm, long-term plans are useless. Bit by bit, I have been required to accept that Spirit works through me–whether I think so or not, and it takes me where it will. But I have also learned that it does a very good job of directing my life when I get out of my own way!

Although, for this generation, the mid-life turning point is a major event, since 1977 a saving grace has been available to assist in the process. That gift is an opposition from Chiron in Pisces. Ordinarily oppositions are considered rather stressful in themselves. They require the two (or more) planets involved to cooperate or fight–rather like a marriage, they come from opposite view points (as male and female, for example) and must discover a meeting ground where contributions are equal and balanced.

This opposition is one of the exceptions, made easier by the fact that Chiron is the new ruler of Virgo, having superceded Mercury. In essence, this is about correcting the spiritual error described earlier. In so doing, Chiron has upgraded Virgo’s meaning and purpose, with the practical effect of allowing Virgos to tune in their intuitive/visionary/creative capacity. As they accept their own innate perfection, they are able to move forward both socially and spiritually, without the old fears of doing something imperfectly.

And for the Viet Nam generation, it frees you up to listen and learn from an inner voice of inspiration. More than that, it allows you to retrieve your power–to discover the power/ability to do that which you once feared to try.

While Uranus often refers to the kind of change that resembles the remodeling of a structure for a changed or improved use, for this group the change is greater, more dramatic because the Pluto effect refers to a complete metamorphosis. The old life is simply wiped out and replaced by a new one—transformation–rebirth. I like to call any transit involving Pluto a butterfly transit, in which you are transformed from the ordinary overly-grounded person, crawling in the dust, to a beautiful butterfly, soaring above the flowers. During this period, a few get their angel wings and soar among the stars. Either way, it is worth the struggle, out of the bindings of the past, to sit in the sun, with drying wings.

Cancer

It is impossible to predict, from the birth chart, exactly how planets, points, and houses in Cancer will turn out. Cancer is the energy of beginnings, the place and/or signature of birth and infancy. Like an infant, who grows more and faster than s/he ever will again, the Cancer area of any individual chart can be expected to grow, and keep on growing. It also suggests emergence, as a plant emerges from the soil. It is the place where something which has been gestated in the dark of womb or soil, emerges into the light. The more care it is given, the more love and attention, the healthier the growth. It is from lack of nurture, that certain Cancers become moody and depressed.

Traditionally, Cancer is known as one of the three so-called unconscious signs. This writer believes that they are, more accurately, pre-verbal memories, what might be called subconscious memories.
We usually think of memories as describable. Ordinarily, memories contain both a verbal and an emotional component. Babies are born without (recognizable) language. Memories acquired in this lifetime begin before we learn to speak, which means mostly, perhaps entirely, before we can truly think. They must be recorded in pictures and/or feelings, which are triggered by later events, bringing up apparently irrational emotional responses. It may be important to realize that there is a reason for such responses, even if you do not consciously know it. In the psychological sense, the source of such responses comes from very early in life–occasionally before birth, and nearly always before age two or three. Many, perhaps all, such responses are linked to events which happened before you had language–at least before you had language adequate for describing the event.
On the surface, those with strong Cancer influences in their charts often appear moody–may even think of themselves that way. This may only be the result of their tendency to soak up all the feelings of those around them. All water signs do this to some extent, because water has little or no resistance to have things dropped into it. Natives who have good strong Saturn boundaries will have less trouble with this. One way to use this to advantage would be to imagine/visualize some type of wall–or preferably filter–which will keep out, or at least limit the penetration of other people’s feelings. Make a picture, then summon up a feeling of safety (Cancer has much to do with feeling safe and secure) and comfort.
Spend time at least once or twice daily with this exercise for a (lunar) month. After that, repeat as needed.

In the ordinary sense, Cancer is related to feelings. Feelings are the mind of the body, telling us what we need. Literally, feelings refer only to the basics: hunger, thirst, pleasure, pain, etc. Generally, it is these feelings that Cancer types pick up so easily. One of the great problems in this area is that many people continue to hold on to unmet needs from their earliest years of life. The truth is, that when we have parents–especially mothers–who do not meet our needs, it is a sure sign that we have already evolved beyond the need or more than we were given. We do choose our parents –of course they must agree. As we near the end of an age, many of us are entering into families which lesser-evolved being would not survive. Whatever our reasons for doing so, of one thing we may be sure: We knew that we could survive, and that we could overcome.

Going beyond this level, we find the enlightened Cancer types who are really channels. They absorb material from the higher mind or super-consciousness–the point where mind is neither limited nor linear, where you can remember things from the apparent future. To the degree that it is a Cancer function, this will come primarily as visions, and perhaps feelings–sometimes the feeling of a vision or a vision of certain feelings. Many from this group become artists, especially painters. The artist can only draw what and how s/he sees.

For Cancer types, one of the most important things to realize is your innocence, for it is the innocence of a small child. You came into this lifetime with a clean slate. This is true, at any level, for the cycle of incarnation turns and turns through the Zodiac. In whatever cycle you are living out, you have newly emerged and you are born free–free of condemnation, free of error, free of karma. Take these words from the Master Jesus as your standard:

Permit the little children to come unto me.
Forbid them not,
For of such is the kingdom of God.

Gemini

Mercury Retro at 21 Gemini, 5/26/08
June 8th–retrograde conjunction to the Sun
Mercury Direct at 12 Gemini 6/19/08
Neptune Retro 24 Aquarius from 5/26/08
Direct at 21 Aquarius on 11/1/08

We begin with an excerpt from The Principles of Astrology:
Gemini is known as "The Twins" or the "Pillars of Hercules" and rightly so. The Gemini emphasis is upon the nature of duality and the logic system that it makes possible. Again this is twofold. We begin with the ability to sort out a particular sight, sound, smell, taste, and/or touch from the background level of objects, noises, odors, attractions, and/or skin contacts. We focus on the specific and we name it, thus beginning the process of building language skills to be used in thinking and communicating.

Time begins here. When we change focus, we create divisions in time. In the past we focused on one thing. In the present we focus on another, and in the future we will focus on still another. Ordinarily, Gemini refers to right now. While time and name are not obvious facets of Gemini, they can be factors--especially when working in the psychological aspects of astrology.

Gemini is the original sign of relationship, sometimes used generically. It is essentially horizontal, referring to a side-by-side relationship, an essential commonality, a twin, sibling, or peer. In certain contexts it can refer to an elementary class or student. Gemini shows our earliest clear sense that there is more than one being like us--especially more than one child in the family, the neighborhood. It is the basis for relating to ideas as they contrast to or compare with the information we have and/or people as like or not-like us. As we learn the names for different entities, then for facets or qualities of these entities, we build a data base with which to think.

Planets in Gemini are conscious, visible. They need to be named properly. It will be important to see them as single units with twin facets--dual or multi-talented. If split apart, only half the information needed will be available and in that area of life. Something will feel torn in two.

When placed in Gemini, planets that represent persons, Mother or Father, Male, Female, Authority, or Power figures, usually divide into separate aspects. EXAMPLE: A Gemini Sun may refer to two fathers, or to one who is sometimes light and sometimes dark. It may also refer to a sibling-like relationship, or to an actual sibling who shares the task. EXAMPLE: A Gemini Moon usually refers to both the Mother and an older Sister who, together, nurture you. The significance of this is that it creates a double bond.

Natal Retrograde Mercury sometimes seems to process thought more slowly than Direct Mercury. Generally this placement indicates a condition of, or like, thinking in one language and speaking in another. It may be that natives are experiencing their first attempt at processing the local language, or even the first attempt at verbal communication. More accustomed to a different communication style,–such as telepathy--this one seems awkward and slow.

That said, the Gemini period of 2008 can be expected to differ from most other years. The Sun entered Gemini on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. The ruler of Gemini is Mercury and Mercury goes retrograde on Monday, May 26, 2008, at 21 Gemini. It continues in reverse until June 19, 2008. Stationary-direct on the 12th degree of Gemini, it resumes forward motion, just 3 days before the Sun enters Cancer.

More than any other planet, Mercury is connected with the five senses, and especially with sight. Here duality begins, largely linked with light. Light is the substance of what we see and the light we see it by. But seeing is not all external. The statement, “I see” can mean that we see an external object. We are seeing what is being shown to us. “I see”can also mean, “I understand” or “I get it.”

Mercury symbolizes consciousness-in-general, especially as it refers to intelligence, thinking and language. The most common daily usage of Mercury is in reference to visual, or at least sensory, perception. Traditionally it’s symbolism has often been limited to the outer senses. However, seers tell us that for every outer sense, we also have an inner sense. The Gemini twins are intended to point to this. Another way to say this is that we have both a physical mind and a spiritual one, with the senses to assist each.

Mercury turns retrograde for 2-3 week periods, three times each year. At such times, the general population is more than usually introspective. The senses symbolized by Mercury turn inward, looking at life with the inner eye, perceiving what may be invisible to the outer senses. The inner vision may dominate the outer one, as intuition reveals what ordinary perceptions miss.

Today, increasing numbers are naturally oriented this way. The vast majority of people born since 1977–and a high percentage of those born during the decade before–are right-brain dominant, highly intuitive and creative. (A great many of the so-called learning disabilities are simply people whose consciousness is too advanced to function within the strongly logical bias of traditional education.)

This writer suspects that the fact that all three 2008 Mercury retrogrades are in air signs may be intended to call attention to the fact that it is time to give as much acceptance to right-brain, intuitive-creative issues as to left-brain logical issues. As intuitives need grounding, so do rigidly logical minds need air. Of the three periods, this retrograde, with Mercury in its own sign, is probably the most visible. It is as though the Higher or Universal mind is saying, “LOOK!” For 22 days, the finger points. We are urged to pay attention to what is happening and to see the visible expansion of the general consciousness–especially as it is vested in our young people and children.

Always, Mercury’s retrograde periods are good for internal review and intuitive processing such as meditation and day dreaming. They are a good time for solving otherwise unsolvable problems, or finding otherwise elusive answers. It is also an excellent time for paying extra attention to message-bearing signs and symbols. For example, have you really looked at the subject matter being addressed in current television programming? Fiction has always been a prime tool for stretching minds. Entertainment slips ideas under our conditioned notions of what is and is-not possible. This year it is introducing us to the potentials and possibilities of the high-level consciousness invested in the New Kids.

Let this period be profitable. Open your mind to the huge part of human consciousness that normally lies beneath or above your everyday thinking mind. There truly are more things in Heaven and Earth than many of us have ever dreamed. This is a prime period for seeing some of them.

The Possibility Journey

May 17, 2008 by Rev. Alice Miller From the Starsinger Files

Part I

Today we are nearing the end of the Age called Pisces. While estimates by different people vary, by my calculations the Age of Aquarius will arrive in approximately 72 years.

What does that mean to the world? What does it mean to individuals? We believe that human consciousness is meant to rise over many incarnations, both individually and as a whole. At any given time, there will be a wide variation from individual to individual, but there will always be an average which includes most of the population of Earth. Each new age represents an upward shift in that average.

As the end of the Age of Pisces nears, there are still large segments of the population who do not realize their great human potential. They do not understand that our physical being is a form or expression of a spiritual nature. It is not different from water vapor being condensed into liquid, or frozen into ice. When spirit wanted to become self-aware, it created or imagined a physical world and a human expression. Now, one may hear the expression, “pieces of God.” I prefer to think that we are literal offspring of that eternal and infinite energy/intelligence that we call God/dess. It is our parent and our genetic heritage and we are intended grow into full consciousness of our godhood, over many incarnations. Still, most humans will not begin to retrieve and use divine abilities until someone shows them that it can be done. Possibility People have accepted that assignment, and have become increasingly prevalent as humanity makes its final drive to enter Aquarius, the age of higher evolution, of peace, brotherhood, and the full development of the creative consciousness. This is about humanity growing up to become co-creators with its God/dess.

It has been said that humans use only about ten percent of their brain. It is now being said that we have also been using only ten percent of our DNA. Surely both show huge potential for further development. At any given time, there are a few individuals who are using a somewhat larger percentage of both. We are not so much evolving into something new, as we are developing the potential that lies within us all. In essence, Possibility People are those individuals who have matured–spiritually and in consciousness–somewhat ahead of the general population. Humanity being what it is, most people will not try something that they believe to be impossible. Possibility People have stepped back in time, to present the possibilities for human advances in living demonstration. Like Jesus ben Joseph, we are the elder siblings of the masses. And in the end, it will not be so much our individual accomplishments, as it will be our lives that become the catalyst for growth in others. We are seeding, midwifing, catalyzing growth into the level required to manifest the next age.

Part II
I am an old Bible student and a “Jesus fan,” although I permit no religion to tell me what the words mean. I have come to believe that Jesus ben Joseph was actually a prototype for consciousness-development during the age of Pisces. I believe that humanity as a whole was meant to evolve to the level he demonstrated. He said as much in John 14:12. He said, “The works I do, shall ye do also, and even greater works.” . (Have you noticed that every day the blind see, the lame walk, the deaf hear, and people are brought back from the dead? Is not the result the same whether it looks like science or faith or magic?)

Some time during my late thirties, these words became the catalyst that led me to become the person I am today. At the time, I noticed that many ministers who quoted them, clearly did not believe them. I felt that the words must be true, and my great desire was to know how to implement them in my own life.

Having determined this as my goal, by the time I entered my forties, I had been introduced to both astrology and metaphysics, and some unseen hand lead me all the way. Others may call it coincidence, but I have concluded that there are no coincidences. I began studying astrology in 1977 and was persuaded by others to begin a professional practice as 1982 turned into 1983. In 1987, again coincidentally I enrolled in metaphysical classes which extended over the next three years. . By 1988, I had begun to write a new astrology, one that integrated principles from modern psychology and metaphysics.

In time, I came to realize that I had been lead into my calling as a Possibility Person–for it is a calling, a mission, something that we have committed to doing or being before entering this lifetime. The practice of astrology taught me that some people are more advanced–in spirituality and in evolution–than others. Being a natural psychologist, I noticed that some people survived very dysfunctional childhoods much better than might be expected. As a trained metaphysician, I was able to recognize that as spiritual muscles, and concluded that these were what is commonly called Old Souls.

Over the next several years, knowledge accumulated, much of it from the charts that I was reading. It has always been clear that some higher power was guiding specific people into my clientele. My practice has consistently been composed of approximately eighty to ninety percent of people from the groups originally called Brotherhoods, and which other writers were calling Starseed, Starborn, Pleadians, Light Workers, etc. In time, I came to call them Possibility People.

Today I recognize six basic types of Possibility People, with thirteen possible variations that occur in a multitude of combinations. I have written two books on the subject, (available from my web site) and although they are overt astrology texts, many non-astrologers could recognize their type and learn more about it by reading them. Thus my work has taken on both individual and group applications, as I recognize/confirm Possibility People status, and teach others through my writing, how to do the same.

In the process of learning about and working with Possibility People, I have found that in many individuals from the generations born since around 1970, a mass upward movement in consciousness is quite evident. The patterns of human development are clearly moving upward and outward. By the early nineties, certain psychically gifted people had recognized this and begin writing about Indigos, Crystals, Psychic Children, etc. These are the next stage beyond the Possibility People–or we may say that as Possibility People we paved the way for Indigos, Crystals, and another group, mainly still to be born to be called Rainbows.

Part III

Virtually all of the Possibility People born before 1970, many of those born during the seventies, and some even later were born to parents who had no idea of who or what they were. Those parents did not even know that it was possible for such differences to be of value. The vast majority assumed that those differences constituted moral, intellectual, and/or emotional flaws. Consequently, most Possibility People have been subjected to serious brainwashing by parents who felt it was their duty to eradicate the strangeness they saw in these children. Some were even subjected to being drugged and/or exorcized.

Virtually all of us were expected to give up our true selves in the name of fitting into society. Interestingly, most Possibility People have forgiven their parents, realizing that they were parenting at their level of knowledge. They did their best, it is true. But if we are to achieve ful self-realization, we must admit–if only to ourselves–that their best was not good for us.

While Pre-Indigo Possibility People were strongly affected by the parenting they received, The New Kids are more resistant to conditioning, although many still need support, recognition, and confirmation. This is particularly true when they are grouped together as, for example, in school systems dominated by static and obsolete belief systems. When the lack of such is sufficiently intense, we occasionally get results such as the Columbine School Shooting which occurred near Denver, CO., a few years ago. Indigos called attention to who/what they are, by whatever means seems necessary! Today’s school age children are mostly Crystals, who ignore what they consider to be nonsense (and sometimes get labeled as autistic) because of it.

In effect, parental conditioning causes us to lower our vibration or consciousness level to theirs. It can, then, take years to recover our true selves. Often, by adulthood, all that remains of our original intention is a feeling that we are on Earth to do something special or important, something that will leave a mark upon the future of humanity. Most Possibility People do not begin recovery until around age forty, many not until near age fifty, and a few not until age sixty. (One Indigo difference is that they are commonly self-realized at about age thirty or even before.) A few Possibility People never really recover themselves in any conscious way, but still manage to serve humanity’s consciousness rise.

Two rather well known (apparent) examples of the last group are O. J. Simpson and Michael Jackson. Although we see no evidence that they understand their spiritual natures, they have had major effects on the general consciousness, by calling attention to some of the ills which had been largely hidden under the surface of society. Their service was/is important in that healing cannot come until the wounds are acknowledged.

The first task of every Possibility People is to acknowledge their wounding. Although we may not hate or condemn those who wounded us, we must admit to ourselves that we were wounded by our parents.

I have worked with hundreds of charts, but I have never seen a Possibility Person’s horoscope that did not have evidence of some type of abuse–whether intentional or not. One of the great markers for Possibility People is the fact that they have and do overcome the effects of it. It is important to take the overcoming that you have accomplished as part of your Possibility Person credentials. Acknowledge what you have done and be grateful to yourself and your Deity for it.

Another group of Possibility People may not appear to be invested in spirituality, but they go about doing the impossible. I know one woman who dug up a garden and transplanted it to boxes during the growing season without interrupting production. Everybody knows you cannot do that, but she did! Another periodically went on a job hunt. She would look at several jobs and decide which she wanted. She always got the one she picked. That same woman left an abusive husband twice, then went back a third time able to control his behavior. One might question why she did that, but she said that so long as she kept him under control he was not beating up other women!

Most Possibility People have a variety of jobs. This seems related to educating themselves for their mission. Over forty years in the working world, I probably had twenty jobs, but all of my jobs were about people. The biggest emphasis was on food service. In a way, I still feed people today!

There is one group of Possibility People whom life often takes from here to there almost helter-skelter. This is because, more than most of us, their mission is to carry the light. Who they are is always more important that what they do. Consequently, they are lead to many places according to where they are needed at the time. Each of them either “lights up the lives” of others, and/or enlightens them–by their very nature. Remember, Jesus ben Joseph said, “Ye are the light of the world.” One Possibility group is clearly that.

Part IV

We are all children of Mother Earth and Father God. Some of us are elder children and some younger. Possibility People are all older than the general population, but within that group some lead the way for others. A few members of that group are the teachers and healers of other Possibility People.

It may be important to realize that while there will be famous (sometimes infamous) Possibility People, a great many of us simply work behind the scenes of society. Born outside the general consciousness of our times, we sometimes struggle long to discover how to live there. Still, when and as we recover the ancient wisdom invested in our own spiritual heritage, we constantly leaven humanity, constantly catalyze growth in others. Most of us will never know how much we affected others. Knowing is not the point.
Being is.

Taurus

Above all else, Taurus refers to the value of embodiment. It says that living in form is a good and valuable experience, and that doing so is a worthy choice.

Taurus is the first Venus-ruled sign. It is personal and derived from the spiritual value of life in form. Its most obvious expression is self-worth. At its best, it knows that love is not an action, but a state of being. Its realization is love as the magnetically charged substance of life, particularly human life, and especially my life. It is the form that divine love takes for manifestation on earth.
If Being is signified by the first awakening of self-awareness, and Seeing by the opening of the eyes to light, then the urge to snuggle down into the covers and prolong the pleasure of soft, warm, inactivity signifies the awakening of self-worth. Here, we most clearly experience human, physical, objective life as good--even wonderful! This is the Venus/Love principle at its purest and most spiritual. It is unsocialized love as expressed in Taurus form. It is consciousness experiencing, or focusing on, unconditional, objective, pleasure. This has nothing to do with thinking, it is simply feeling. It is the mastered, unconscious, awareness of the goodness-of-life, functioning automatically, without attention, as a feeling of pleasure.
Without modification by other chart aspects, Taurus will characterize any planet she holds as pleasurable, as inherently good. It is important to realize that this can produce an appearance of mixed or even negative results. EXAMPLE: With Saturn/limits in Taurus there could be a sense that it is good to stay within whatever boundaries exist, a kind of inertia. Probably there would be some very good internal reason for inhibiting some movement in the life temporarily. However, these limits might not be socially acceptable, and might inhibit the expression of (socially defined) success.
If planets in Taurus are giving you problems, you probably need to reexamine the definition or concept you have of that part of personality represented by them. Look at that function from a different perspective, or as many different perspectives as necessary to integrate the goodness available within the structure of your life.
Ask, “How is this good? What is it good for?” Sometimes it is a matter of , “When is it good?” Steak or popcorn, or any number of other things may be not-good babies and very good for healthy adults.
Remember that Taurus is only the second sign and something of a "baby." The values she appears to hold and those inherent in her being may be different, because babies are expected to absorb the values of those around them. Taurean functions are sometimes very good, well-trained, and well-behaved without bringing the expected rewards. If so, what you believe to be your good is different from what you really need to have or get. For resolution, try examining the assets that you bring to any crisis. What can you do when there is no time to think about whether you should or should-not be doing it? These are your inherent spiritual abilities and they need to be brought to consciousness and practiced intentionally. Learn to love these skills; if they are there for you in crisis, they are valuable indeed.

Structure is a word attached to the Taurus concept. Its roots lie in the basic idea of form. A form--as opposed to space--is a place where micro-particles such as atoms, molecules, quarks, and photons are clustered or bonded. They stick together and are integrated into a structure. Taurus refers, then, to bonding, integration, and to the secondary form that occurs as the result of combining certain building blocks. Taureans are builders.
The process that maintains structure, is called integrity and refers to the principle: Like attracts like. We then extend our concept to include the ideas of attraction and attractiveness, magnetism and beauty. We might refer to the beauty of rationalism, of order, of the way in which things that belong together are attracted to each other. On Earth and its adjuncts we call that magnetism gravity, and we say that like gravitates toward like.
In this aspect, we admire or love the form and structure of life and evaluate it as necessary and good, even as beautiful, awesome, magnificent. As applied to mundane life, it becomes the value of builders and of building. Taurus combines necessity with beauty. The emphasis is comfort and pleasure. It is the sign of practical artistry, designed to please both body and spirit. (Architect, decorators, chefs, seamstresses, etc.)

Abstractly, Taurus refers to the beauty in good function, in well-executed action, and in good fit as it is derived from proper connection. When this aspect extends to human body, we assign Taurus to the neck as the link between the head and the body. It is the throat that gives shape and form to the voice. Voice is the transmitter that shapes ideas into sounds. When we enjoy these sounds, when we are pleased by them, we will call them harmonious or musical. Many Taureans are singers, and/or have the gift of charming expression. Taurus actually relates more closely to charm and the art of pleasing than it does with classic beauty.
Like children, Taurus planets and points can charm us even when they are not objectively beautiful. Here beauty is not so much in the appearance, as it is a combination of all the aspects of being and the pleasurable effect that they have on the beholder. Remember that, like children, pets, and plants, they respond well to praise, wanting, above all else, to please. Also, like children, they will let you know when they are happy and pleased--and when they are not!

One cannot write about Taurus, without mentioning its connection to money. Money is often very important to Taureans. This is because money is a means of expressing value–either the value inherent in substance (gold, silver, gems, etc), or value coferred by personal meaning, or most commonly the value of one’s time and effort (paycheck). Money seldom has value in and of iteself (excepting some coins). It is merely a convenient way of dealing with commerce, of exchanging value for value.
This is probably what Jesus ben Joseph intended to express in saying that the love of money is the root of all evil. Notice how often those who quote this leave out the love–condemning that which is merely a medium of exchange.
Today, metaphysics teaches two things about money. The first is that prosperity consciousness is not about accumulating funds. It is about the amount of money that flows through your life. It is about being sufficiently in touch with the Divine part of us to understand that we can have the use of a great deal when we stop trying to own or hoard it.
The other thing is that, when using affirmations to acquire something, it does not work to ask for the money to buy it. EXAMPLE: Do not ask for $30,000 to buy a car. Instead, ask for the car, while remaining willing to accept it as a gift, or something that enters your life in some coincidental way.

I will end on a personal note. I have never had much money in my life–I suspect that this is partly because I could never get much interested in money. However, over the years my ability to make the money I had
s-t-r-e-t-c-h, almost beyond belief, developed almost to the point of looking magical. In recent years, (since retirement age) a great deal is simply furnished me, by various agencies and people. I still live modestly–again I think that is because I have no real desire for more–but my needs are met.
My life and my finances flow more smoothly than ever before. I laughingly say that part of my contribution to the mass consciousness is:
to live with no visible means of support!
There is an excellent book on prosperity thinking entitled
Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow. For me, that is true, albeit in an original form!

Spring

In the beginning . . .

Astrology presents a symbolic picture of life as a circular or cyclic process that gradually lifts into a spiral. The point at which the Zodiacal circle begins, and where it lifts into a spiral is 00o Aries, otherwise known as the Spring Equinox. At this point, daylight, which began to increase at the Winter Solstice, 00o Capricorn, reaches equality with the dark time. We can say that light has now overcome the dark, for it increases steadily until the next yearly turning point, at 00o Cancer, the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. After the summer Solstice, daylight begins to diminish, reaching equality at the Autumn Solstice, 00o Libra, continuing to diminish until Winter Solstice. These fall on or near the 21st days of March, June, October, and December.

Equinox (borrowed from Wikipedia)

In astronomy, equinox can have two meanings:

1)The moment when the Sun is positioned directly over the Earth's equator and, by extension, the apparent position of the Sun at that moment.

2)The time at which the vernal point, celestial equator, and other such elements are taken to be used in the definition of a celestial coordinate system—see Equinox (celestial coordinates)

An equinox in astronomy is that moment in time (not a whole day) when the center of the Sun can be observed to be directly above the Earth's equator, occurring around March 20 and September 23 each year.

More technically, at an equinox, the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator (i.e. declination 0) and ecliptic intersect. These points of intersection are called equinoctial points—the vernal point and the autumnal point. By extension, the term equinox may be used to denote an equinoctial point.

Easter

We note that Easer falls early this year. For much of the world, Easter is a religious holiday, intended to celebrate a return to life of one, Jesus ben Joseph, who had been executed by the Roman state, with the Sanhedrin an accessory.

Easter is a moveable holiday with the selection of its yearly date based on the Hebrew luni-solar calender, probably with an intent to link Easter to Passover. The current rule puts it on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the equinox.

The name for this holiday, Easter, has a different source. It is a version of Astarte/Ishtar, a Babylonian creatrix and goddess of fertility. Her major celebration was in the spring. We probably owe bunny-rabbits, colored eggs and Easter lilies to her. Incidently, the historical roots of astrology come from that time-space.

The synthesis has created an opportunity for us all, Christian, Jewish, or Pagan to joyfully celebrate a time of year when the apparently-dead seeds of the past return to life, springing up, reaching for the light and a renewal of hope. Whether we speak of resurrection or of reincarnation, it reminds us that within every ending lies a new beginning, that death is temporary, that life is eternal. Somewhere in the dark of a womb, or the dark of the soil, a quickening occurs, and life reaches for the light again.

Aries

Aries begins with the Spring Equinox which is the astrological new year. It is also a symbolic incarnation point, for Aries signifies spirit quickening physical ova, to begin a process that will lead to birth/Cancer. Notice that this is a stirring in the dark which will not emerge fully until later. It is a promise of joy, of life to come, of emergence into the light.

Aries signifies the sprouting of a seed underground, that will lead to the greening of Earth in Summer. By extension, it can be the first stirring of thought, that leads to creation. It is the sign of inception, and of the entrepreneur. Aries is not about finishing things, it is about beginning them. It is the first outreach of desire, the desire to be, to have or do, to become.

Aries is Survivor first and survival is often an issue with its natives. This is especially true when Aries rises in a chart, for Survivor becomes the name or identification by which we recognize ourselves and are recognized by others. The great challenge for the Survivor is to realize that, by divine mandate, we are absolute survivors-- that nothing and no one can take our lives without our permission. All too often, Aries challenges life to do its worst, from some sense that we must prove our indestructibility. Only when we realize that our survival is a fact, that it needs no proof, are we free to become pioneers.

The Aries Pioneer goes where angels fear to tread. Here the survival issue is channeled into survival of humanity, from the knowledge that life, by definition, must move, grow, change, become. It is about forward motion and Aries moves out, at the head of the group, leading the way into tomorrow. This sign is very much first and in this phase the Aries ram has evolved to become the Shepherd, the one who leads the sheep. Aries may not always seem to have common sense, but they prove the value of uncommon sense! They take humanity across its fears, to places where it otherwise would not go.

In its most evolved form, Aries becomes the Seed Being. These seed new ideas into the general consciousness, breathing new life into old belief systems, finding new applications for ancient principles, literally lighting the way into the future. They show us new perspectives, teach us to recognize previously unknown talents and abilities, to claim our heritage as first cause.

As the first sign, Aries is somewhat primitive. S/he is also the innocent of the Zodiac. S/he does not know the meaning of “no” or “cannot”. Aries is the person you see hurrying down life’s path, through all the mud puddles, over all the rocks–falling down, skinning knees, jumping up and hurrying on, never noticing the blood running down his legs. And because she is so fearless–or some would say heedless–Aries gets where others never do. It simply never occurs to us that we cannot get where we decide to go!

We do, sometimes, butt our head against the wall, making us see stars! But when we see stars, our urge is to move toward them! So when life, or our own single-mindedness knock us down, we get up, shake our heads, and keep on going! It often looks foolish to the world, but it comes from a deep wisdom. Two things, we know better than other signs:

Life is eternal so death can only be temporary.

Sheep cannot be driven, only lead. Even so, humanity will not move into the unknown without someone to lead. We move forward, even against conventional wisdom, to show the way, out of the past, into the future.

This Aries loves spring, loves daffodils and dandelions as manifestations of golden light and the promise of more beauty to come. . . Yes, I know, dandelions are weeds–but then I believe that everything is good for something!

(Actually, I learned to really love them when I lived “two miles high” in Leadville, Colorado, where little else blooms!)
